Mom and Dad loved to Cross Country Ski. I guess I burned enough calories just playing outside because I never took up the sport, but I'm thinking about it now. I have to watch my sugar as I'm pre-diabetic but mom was full-fledged and she always managed to work this exercise into her winter activities. She simply made sure that she carried a few granola bars with her as this can really burn up the sugar! Just last winter I went for a walk in the park that is just across the street and there was this lady in the parking lot sliding into her skis. The park is huge and you could spend the entire afternoon. I'm really into Zumba these days, but getting out into the fresh air sounds like a nice change. While I'm at it, I might look into a pair for my husband. I would love to race him lol. All that Zumba must have made me stronger ;) He will never know what hit him!
